Cutting Services
We offer a cutting service for your boards. Tell us what panels you need and we’ll do the rest.
Our design team will interpret your cutting list and fit your panels onto boards as efficiently as possible to reduce waste to an absolute minimum. We use specialist software that helps us find the most efficient layout possible for both the material and the saw path.
Our saws offer two dimensional (x and y) square cuts only for the creation of square or rectangular panels typically used in furniture design.
The smallest panel we can cut is 100mm square. The largest panel we can cut from our stock 2440mm x 1220mm (8ft x 4ft) boards is 2400mm x 1200mm.
Cutting Lists
Please supply us with your cutting list. This is a relatively simple document that provides a panel reference and the required size.
For example:
- Panel 1 - 100mm x 400mm
- Panel 2 - 200mm x 400mm
- Panel 3 - 600mm x 600mm
If you are looking for someone to actually design your furniture for you, we do that too. Our sister company Wessex Furniture offers a fully bespoke fitted furniture design service.
We manufacture the furniture in our Bridec facility in Dorset and send a team of professional fitters to your building to install the furniture in place.
Labelling
Every panel that comes off the saw is labelled. In your cutting list, we’ll use the reference you give each panel on the label so you can cross reference the panels you receive with the cutting list you supplied us with.
Your panel reference format is entirely up to you. Commonly we see references that refer to room types or sections or just simple numbering.

Pricing Cutting
Board cutting is priced largely by machine time. That is to say, we price cutting based on how long it takes the saw to cut your panels. Therefore, the more cuts you ask for the more it is likely to cost.
When we receive your cutting list, our software will give us the most efficient cutting path which helps reduce machine time and therefore the cost. We will always give you the best machine time price that we can.
